PopGun5 put on a good show at Cowboy Monkey, complete with light show and costumed Ralph.
Planning to check-out the Wall 2 Wall Guitar Festival this week at Krannert. It sounds like it'll be wall to wall fun. Have you heard about it? Have to admit I'm rather intrigued by the John Lennon bus. And from what I've read and heard about Cashdollar her performance sounds like a must see.
I went to Pasha the other night for some good Mediterrean food, complete with Saganaki...I probably spelled that wrong, but you can't go wrong with flaming cheese. Opa!
I tried finding the name of the trumpet player I'd heard at Swingers Grille to no avail....more research needed but I will find it...I'm on a mission now.
Until then, I'm planning to check out PopGun5 at Cowboy Monkey this weekend. Have you heard them? They're playing on Saturday (Sept 8). I caught their show at the Iron Post a few weeks ago and it was pretty entertaining. I know two of the guitar players so although I came to support them it was fun to watch how the audience reacted to their performance and they seemed to really enjoy it. So I'm anxious to see how they do with their next 12 songs.
Okay, not THAT kind of "swinging"...I made a trip to Bloomington recently and happened to find this fairly new sports bard called Swingers. They've got a driving range...hence the name...but there was also this great restaurant on the lower level that doesn't serve standard bar food. The coolest thing was this jazz quartet. The trumpet player used to tour with someone...that I can't remember the name of....I'll find it and get back to you on it.
